Sharps Recovery System {Formerly Sharps Disposal By Mail System} - an innovative system designed for simplified and environmentally friendly treatement and repurposing of used needles, syringes and other regulated medical waste generated outside the large healthcare setting. A first of its kind, this system completely eliminates landfill use and creates a new resource used in the manufacture of materials for industrial applications. The Sharps Recovery System is a government-approved system comprised of a custom designed mailable sharps container, a postage paid prepaid return-by-mail shipping box, and insturctions for use in English and Spanish. When the sharps collection container is full, the generator of the medical waste returns the sharps container to its original packaging. The shipping box and the enclosed sharps collection container are then returned to Sharps' treatment facility for repurposing. Upon receipt, Sharps Compliance documents the return, weight, and destruction of each sharps container. Certification is then available on SharpsTracer, Sharps' internet-based tracking program.
